Enough time to take a little\nwalk or go get a coffee, but maybe not long enough to go home for the day?\npushoverr is an R package that allows you to send push notifications via\n[Pushover](https://pushover.net/) to your mobile devices (iOS or Android) or\ndesktop. Now you'll be able to easily let yourself know when it's done (or\nwhenever else you want to send yourself or your group a message).\n\n\n## Prerequisites\n\nYou'll need a free account with [Pushover](https://pushover.net/). Once you\nhave that, log in and [register an\napplication](https://pushover.net/apps/build). You should now have two\ncodes---a **user key** and an **API token/key**. These are what identify you\nand your app(s) to Pushover. You'll pass these along to pushoverr whenever you\nsend a message. You'll also need the Pushover app for\n[iOS](https://pushover.net/clients/ios) or\n[Android](https://pushover.net/clients/android) (desktop notifications coming\nsoon).\n\n\n## Installation\n\nInstalling pushoverr is as easy as running:\n\n install.packages('pushoverr')\n\n\n### Latest and Greatest (Fingers Crossed) via GitHub\n\nIf you like living on the edge (or need a previous version), you can use\n[devtools](http://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/devtools/index.html) to\ninstall the latest and greatest version of pushoverr from GitHub. To do so:\n\n if(!require('devtools')) install.packages('devtools')\n library(devtools)\n install_github('briandconnelly/pushoverr')\n\nYou'll also need to make sure that you have the excellent\n[httr](http://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/httr/index.html) package, which\nmakes working with web connections easy. For an up-to-date R setup, this can\nbe done by running `install.packages('httpr')`.\n\n\n## Using pushoverr\n\nNow that pushoverr's been installed, you're ready to start pushing some\nnotifications. To begin using pushoverr, you'll need to first load the library.\nTo do this, run:\n\n library(pushoverr)\n\n \n### Example 1: Send Yourself A Message\n\nIn order to send a message, you'll need to have your user key and an app token.\nThen:\n\n pushover(message='Mr. Watson--come here--I want to see you.', user=, token=)\n\nWithin just a few seconds, your phone/tablet/watch/whatever should be abuzz\nwith this historic message.\n\n\n### Example 2: Send Yourself an Important Message\n\nPushoverr provides message different message priorities. Quiet messages arrive\nwithout playing a sound, high priority messages arrive with a reddish\nbackground, and emergency messages arrive and repeat until they've been\nacknowledged. `pushoverr` provides easy methods for sending these:\n\n pushover_quiet(message='The kittens are sleeping', user=, token=)\n\nOr more urgently:\n\n pushover_emergency(message='The kittens are awake, and they are angry!', user=, token=)\n\nEmergency messages return a receipt token that can be checked with\n`is.acknowledged()` to see whether or not it has been acknowledged.\n\n\n### Example 3: Saving Your Credentials\n\nRemembering to include your user key and app token every time you send a\nmessage is a big hassle.
