waiver


A waiver is a "flag" object, similar to <code>NULL</code>, that indicates the
calling function should just use the default value.  It is used in certain
functions to distinguish between displaying nothing (<code>NULL</code>) and
displaying a default value calculated elsewhere (<code>waiver()</code>)
