Multivariate Time Series Library
  For each package there is a section of the Users' Guide
  is available in doc/*.pdf and these are combined in
  dse1/doc/dse-guide.pdf.
  The package dse1 is the base system, including multivariate
  ARMA and State Space models. 
  Package dse2 has extensions for evaluating estimation
  techniques, forecasting, and for evaluating forecasting models.
  Package tframe is a kernel of methods for programming with time series.
  These packages require the package setRNG.

DSEflags function

Setting flags with this function is primarily for debugging. It should not
    normally be needed by users.
    Several <pkg>dse</pkg> functions which call compiled fortran or C code will use
    the equivalent S/R version if the <code>.DSEflags()$COMPILED</code> returns 
    <code>FALSE</code>.  <code>.DSEflags()$DUP</code> is passed to
    fortran calls and controls whether R duplicates arguments passed
    to the fortran code. The safe setting is <code>TRUE</code>. Setting <code>FALSE</code> 
    saves some memory but does not seem to give much speed gain.
