The functions allow\nthe user to search for and fetch time series observations as well as\nassociated metadata within the FRED database.\n\nThe core function in this package is `fredr()`, which fetches\nobservations for a FRED series. That said, there are many other FRED\nendpoints exposed through fredr, such as `fredr_series_search_text()`,\nwhich allows you to search for a FRED series by text.\n\nWe strongly encourage referencing the FRED API\n[documentation](https://fred.stlouisfed.org/docs/api/fred/) to leverage\nthe full power of fredr.\n\nYou’ll also need a free API key to use fredr. See `?fredr_set_key()`.\n\n## Installation\n\nYou can download fredr from CRAN with:\n\n``` r\ninstall.packages(\"fredr\")\n```\n\nTo get the development version of the package:\n\n``` r\n# install.packages(\"devtools\")\ndevtools::install_github(\"sboysel/fredr\")\n```\n\n## Example\n\nYou can use `fredr()` to fetch series from FRED.
