The\npackage also provides utilities for plotting panel data and transition\nprobabilities between states. Many of the functions from the package can\nbe used for visualisation as well. The package currently supports two\napproaches to determine transition intensities, either using the\nMultinomial likelihood approach as in [Gomon and Putter\n(2024)](https://doi.org/10.48550/arXiv.2409.07176) or the latent Poisson\napproach as in [Gu et al\n(2023)](https://doi.org/10.1093/biomet/asad073).\n\n## Using the package\n\nMore information on how to use the package can be found in the vignettes\nunder the `doc` directory.\n\n## Installation\n\nInstall the development version from [GitHub](https://github.com/) with:\n\n``` r\n# install.packages(\"devtools\")\ndevtools::install_github(\"d-gomon/icmstate\")\n```\n\nor the released version from CRAN using:\n\n``` r\ninstall.packages(\"icmstate\")\n```\n\n## Research Code\n\nThe results of [Gomon and Putter\n(2024)](https://doi.org/10.48550/arXiv.2409.07176) can be reproduced\nusing the code in the folder `Research_Code`.\n\n## References\n\nGomon D., Putter H.
