side

A logical triggering whether the tick marks are echoed on the opposite side. This value is forced to <code>FALSE</code> if <code>otherside.type</code> is not <code>"NA"</code>.

twoside

The axis type for the primary <code>side</code>.

side.type

The optional axis type for the opposite side. The default is a literal not applicable.

otherside.type

A short-cut to change the axis label without having to specify a <code>*.control</code> argument and its <code>label</code> attribute. The label attribute of <code>alt.lab</code> is not <code>NA</code> is used instead of the defaults. This argument overrides behavior of the <code>otherside.type</code> labeling so use of <code>alt.lab</code> only makes sense if <code>otherside.type</code> is left as <code>NA</code>.

An optional R <code>list</code> used to influence the NPP axis.

NPP.control

An optional R <code>list</code> used to influence the RI axis.

RI.control

An optional R <code>list</code> used to influence the SNV axis.

SNV.control

Additional arguments that are passed to the R function <code>Axis</code>.

This function provides special support for adding probability-like axes to an existing plot. The function supports a recurrence interval (RI) axis, normal probability axis (NPP), and standard normal variate (SNV) axis. The function is built around the interface model that standard normal transformation of the values for the respective axis controlled by this function are being plotted; this means that <code>qnorm()</code> should be wrapped on the values of nonexceedance probability. This is an ease oversight to make (see Examples section below and note use of <code>qnorm(pp)</code>).The function provides a convenient interface for labeling and titling two axes, so adjustments to default margins might be desired. The pertinent control is achieved using the <code>par()</code> function, which might be of the form <code>par(mgp=c(3,0.5,0), mar=c(5,4,4,3))</code> say for plotting the lmomco axis both on the left and right (see <code><a rd-options="" href="/link/z.par2cdf?package=lmomco&version=2.2.4" data-mini-rdoc="lmomco::z.par2cdf">z.par2cdf</a></code> for an example).

Extensive functions for the theory of L-moments (LMs) in addition to probability-weighted moments (PWMs), and parameter (p) estimation for numerous familiar and not-so-familiar distributions. Estimation of LMs for the same distributions is provided as are L-moment ratio diagrams. Estimation of LMs for right-tail and left-tail censoring by known or unknown threshold and also by indicator variable is available. Asymmetric trimmed LMs (TL-moments, TLMs) are supported as are numerical integrations to dynamically compute trajectories of select TLM ratios for TL-moment ratio diagram construction.  LMs of residual (resid.) and reversed (rev.) resid. life are implemented along with 13 operators on quantile functions that are useful in reliability, lifetime, and survival analysis.  Exact analytical bootstrap estimates of order statistics, LMs, and variances-covariances of LMs are provided. The Harri-Coble Tau34-squared Test for Normality is available. Distribution support with "L" (LMs), "TL" (TLMs) and added (+) support for right-tail censoring (RC) encompasses: Asymmetric (Asy.) Exponential (Exp.) Power [L], Asy. Triangular [L], Cauchy [TL], Eta-Mu [L], Exp. [L], Gamma [L], Generalized (Gen.) Exp. Poisson [L], Gen. Extreme Value [L], Gen. Lambda [L,TL], Gen. Logistic [L), Gen. Normal [L], Gen. Pareto [L+RC, TL], Govindarajulu [L], Gumbel [L], Kappa [L], Kappa-Mu [L], Kumaraswamy [L], Laplace [L], Linear Mean Residual Quantile Function [L], Normal [L], 3-p log-Normal [L], Pearson Type III [L], Rayleigh [L], Rev. Gumbel [L+RC], Rice/Rician (L), Slash [TL], 3-p Student t [L], Truncated Exponential [L], Wakeby [L], and Weibull [L]. LMs have multivariate analogs; the sample L-comoments (LCMs) are implemented and might have considerable application with copulas because LCMs measure asymmetric association and higher comoments or comovements of variables.
