Date-time must be a POSIXct, POSIXlt, Date, chron,
  yearmon, yearqtr, zoo, zooreg, timeDate, xts, its, ti,
  jul, timeSeries, and fts objects.

Lubridate makes it easier to work with dates
    and times by providing functions to identify and parse
    date-time data, extract and modify components of a
    date-time (years, months, days, hours, minutes, and
    seconds), perform accurate math on date-times, handle
    time zones and Daylight Savings Time. Lubridate has a
    consistent, memorable syntax, that makes working with
    dates fun instead of frustrating.

days_in_month function

Get the number of days in the month of a date-time.

Functions to work with date-times and time-spans: fast and user
friendly parsing of date-time data, extraction and updating of components of
a date-time (years, months, days, hours, minutes, and seconds), algebraic
manipulation on date-time and time-span objects. The 'lubridate' package has
a consistent and memorable syntax that makes working with dates easy and
fun.
Parts of the 'CCTZ' source code, released under the Apache 2.0 License,
