Generates a sample of size <code>n</code> from an inhomogeneous phase-type distribution with parameters <code>alpha</code>, <code>S</code> and <code>beta</code>

Tools for homogeneous and in-homogeneous phase-type distributions.
Methods for functional evaluation, simulation and estimation using the
expectation-maximization (EM) algorithm are provided.
