tcga_kirc_example

A small subset of the TCGA KIRC (kidney renal clear cell
carcinoma) expression and survival data, for use as an
example for messinaSurv.

Messina is a collection of algorithms for constructing
        optimally robust single-gene classifiers, and for identifying
        differential expression in the presence of outliers or unknown
        sample subgroups.  The methods have application in identifying
        lead features to develop into clinical tests (both diagnostic
        and prognostic), and in identifying differential expression
        when a fraction of samples show unusual patterns of expression.

a <code>matrix</code> of RNAseq (TCGA platform "illuminahiseq_rnaseqv2") expression estimates kirc.exprs,
  with genes in rows and patients in columns; and a <code>Surv</code> object kirc.surv, giving patient survival
  times and status.

format

TCGA, downloaded on 16 Jan 2014, and only a small random
subset of genes retained, to reduce size.
