It aims to support forest management and\nresearch by providing a flexible toolkit for data manipulation and\nsummary.\n\n## Installation\n\nYou can install the development version of `silviculture` from\n[GitHub](https://github.com/) with:\n\n``` r\n# install.packages(\"pak\")\npak::pak(\"Cidree/silviculture\")\n```\n\n## Roadmap\n\nThis package is currently under active development and may still contain\nbugs or unstable features. I do not recommend using it in real-world\napplications at this stage, as it may be prone to errors.\n\n## Nomenclature\n\nThe package uses the following terms as function arguments consistently:\n\n- `biomass`: mass of the tree or part of the tree in kilograms.\n\n- `dclass`: the diametric class of the tree. In forestry we typically\n work with diametric classes instead of raw diameters. Therefore, we\n often create diametric classes with a range of 5 or 10 centimeters.\n\n- `diameter`: diameter of the tree, typically refering to the diameter\n at breast height (1.30 meters) expressed in centimeters.\n\n- `h0 (dominant height)`: the mean height of the 100 thickest trees per\n hectare (Assman); or the mean height of the 100 tallest trees per\n hectare (Hart).\n\n- `g (basal area)`: the basal area of the tree, which is typically\n expressed by the symbol `G`. It is expressed as squared meters per\n hectare ( m²/ha).\n\n- `height`: it refers to the total height of the tree in meters.\n\n- `Lorey's height`: tree’s mean height weighted by basal area.\n\n- `ntrees`: number of trees (typically of the same diameter).\n\n- `species`: Latin name of the tree species (e.g. *Pinus pinaster*).\n\n- `volume`: estimated volume of the tree in cubic meters\n (m³).\n\n## Contributing\n\nContributions to `silviculture` are highly appreciated!
