The data span multiple years. Sources include\nthe US Census, the American Community Survey, data distributed by the\nBureau of Labor Statistics, etc.\n\n## Installation\n\nYou can install the package from [CRAN](https://CRAN.R-project.org)\nwith:\n\n``` r\ninstall.packages(\"usdata\")\n```\n\nAdditionally, you can install the development version of usdata from\nGitHub with:\n\n``` r\n#install.packages(\"devtools\")\nlibrary(devtools)\ninstall_github(\"OpenIntroStat/usdata\")\n```\n\n## Usage\n\nThe datasets from this package can be used in a teaching context for\ndata visualization and data manipulation exercises as well as for\nmodeling. Since data spans multiple years it’s also possible to use\nthese data to explore trends in the US over time.\n\n## usdata and openintro\n\nThe datasets from this package are used in\n[OpenIntro](https://www.openintro.org/) textbooks and other resources.\nThese datasets originally lived in the\n[**openintro**](http://openintrostat.github.io/openintro/) package, up\nuntil openintro 2.0.0. The motivation for extracting these datasets out\nof the openintro package was to create a new package where we can\ncontinue to add more data on the US at the state and county levels. For\nthose looking for a seamless experience with OpenIntro resources, note\nthat the contents of this package will be loaded along with the\nopenintro package as well, so that you can run `library(openintro)` and\nuse the datasets from usdata.\n\n## Questions, bugs, feature requests\n\nYou can file an issue to get help, report a bug, or make a feature\nrequest.\n\nWhen filing an issue to get help or report a bug, please make a minimal\n**repr**oducible **ex**ample using the\n[reprex](https://reprex.tidyverse.org/) package.
