A general numeric dense matrix in the S4 Matrix
representation. `dgeMatrix`

is the *“standard”*
class for dense numeric matrices in the Matrix package.

Objects can be created by calls of the form `new("dgeMatrix", ...)`

or, more commonly, by coercion from the `Matrix`

class (see
'>Matrix) or by `Matrix(..)`
